Notice Pursuant to the “Non-Coal Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act” and the “Clean Stream Laws” notice is hereby given that Redlands Quarries NY Inc. doing business at 4810 Buttermilk Hollow Road, West Mifflin, PA 15122 had made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to transfer the existing surface mine permit No. SMP 02030301, known as the “Duquesne Plant”, from Lafarge North America Inc. The 112.5-acre permit area is located in West Mifflin Borough, Allegheny County. The currently permitted 112.5 acre area is generally described as north and east east of Noble Drive, west of Buttermilk Hollow Road, north of the railroad tracks in this vicinity and approximately rectangular in area of 3,500 feet by 1,325 feet. This area can be found on the 7.5 minute Glassport U.S.G.S. quadrangle map. The receiving stream for this permit area is Thompson Run, which is classified as a warm water fishery. A copy of this application is available for public inspection at the Allegheny County Conservation District Office, 33 Terminal Way, Suite 325b, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Written comments, objections or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, New Stanton District Mining Office, 131 Broadview Road, New Stanton, PA 15672. The objection must include the person's name, address, telephone number and a brief statement as to the nature of the objection. The objections and/or comments must be submitted within 30 days following the final (4th) publication of this notice.
