PUBLIC NOTICE The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) has submitted application for PENNVEST funding consideration in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, for the purpose of storm sewer system construction. The loan will be used for the following projects: COA Storm Sewer Separation Project SSI4-424-08 (9 sites) This proposed contract will be used to construct storm sewers in support of storm inlet/catch basin disconnections that were identified via dye testing as contributing stormwater to the sanitary sewer system. This dye testing was performed as a requirement of the Consent Order and Agreement between the City of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP). The construction of storm sewers will support the removal of stormwater from the existing sanitary sewers thus aiding to ensure the proper function and performance of the existing sanitary sewer system. The sites involved in this project are located throughout the PWSA sewer service area which is primarily contained in the City of Pittsburgh municipal limits. In the December 2012 board meeting, the PWSA Board approved the 2013 Operating Budget which does not include a rate increase for its customers.
