DOCUMENT 00 01 50 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID Architect McLean Architects LLC, 809 Bingham Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203, (412) 381-3300 Advertisement for Bid Capital Improvements at Upper St. Clair High School and Boyce Middle School, Upper St. Clair, PA 15241 Date: December 27, 2017 Project #: MA 1615 The Upper St. Clair School District is requesting multiple-prime construction bids including a General Contract, HVAC Contract, Plumbing Contract and Electrical Contract for Capital Improvements at Upper St. Clair High School and Boyce Middle School. Work at the High School includes site improvements, an addition to the existing high school building for a new natatorium, and a new building & improvements at the existing stadium. Work at Boyce Middle School includes minor site improvements, and construction of a new concessions/restroom building. Work will commence on a written "Notice to Proceed" (NTP) from the Owner or his representative, and will be substantially complete no later than JULY 15, 2019. Bids will be on a lump sum basis Base Bid; award will be made to the low base bid plus or minus any alternates (if any). Segregated bids will not be accepted. The School District is requesting bids to be made "net of insurance" and will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder "net of insurance," all as more thoroughly described in the Contract Documents. Under this approach, contractors and subcontractors must remove the cost of Owner provided insurance from the base bid price. The lowest responsible bidder will be determined on a "net of insurance" basis. In other words, the base bid is to be identified by the contractor excluding costs and expenses for General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Workers' Compensation and Builder's Risk Insurance as delineated in the contract documents. Alternate bids and unit prices are also to be set forth excluding cost for such insurance. The Owner will select which alternates it desires and will determine the low bidder based upon the bids without insurance being provided by the contractor. Segregated bids will not be accepted. The Upper St. Clair School District will receive sealed bids until 1:00 pm prevailing time, Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the Office of Mr. Scott Burchill, Director of Business and Finance, Upper St. Clair School District Offices, 1820 McLaughlin Run Road, Upper St. Clair, PA 15241, where they will be stamped with the time and date. Bids received after that time will not be accepted. Bids will be opened and read aloud shortly thereafter, in the LGI Room of the Upper St. Clair High School. Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at the Architect's Office in accordance with Document 00 21 14 - Instruction to Bidders, for a non-refundable fee of $ 500 for paper documents and/or $ 35 for PDF files on a cd. Bidding Documents will be sent upon receipt of payment.
